STRUCTURAL STUDY OF A HOUSING BETWEEN PARTY WALLS in VILA-SECA TOWN (TARRAGONA) – SPAIN

In the historical centre of the town of Vila-seca, is located this house between party walls, that is the object of analysis. It is the classic housing of popular architecture that responds to the familiar needs of hosting more space. The original house is made from adobe walls and heterogeneous masonry, later the extensions are realized with more advanced construction techniques like for example the use of the steel. The structural study focuses on the analysis of the walls and the descent of loads, concluding the origins of certain initial pathologies.
